Community Corrections Diversion ProgramGrant C CompendiumFY2012Summary of Placement, Supervision and ServicesPlacementNON-SECURE RESIDENTIALA non-secure residential child care facility is defined as a facility licensed or certified by the Texas Department ofFamily and Protective Services to provide assessment, care, training, education, custody, treatment, or supervision fora child who is not related by blood, marriage, or adoption to the owner or operator of the facility, for all of the 24-hour day, whether or not the facility is operated for profit or charges for the services it offers. The term includes childcareinstitutions, child-placing agencies, foster group homes, foster homes, agency foster group homes, and agencyfoster homes. SECURE CORRECTIONALA secure correctional facility is defined as a secure facility administered by a juvenile board or a privately operatedfacility certified by the juvenile board that houses juvenile offenders who have been adjudicated delinquent andplaced under the supervision of the court. These facilities include construction fixtures designed to physically restrictthe movement of juveniles and consist of a structured, supportive residential setting that is designed to maintain orimprove the child’s functioning.
