12.0 Access and MovementStreet Lighting/FurnitureStreet lighting is used to ensure the safemovement for pedestrians and cyclists, toreduce opportunities for crime and toenable drivers to see hazards on the road.Although lighting has an importantpractical function, it can also enhance thebuilt environment if the appropriate designand size is selected.
