Pressurising from an external pressure source<br />

A pressure-reducing valve must be fitted between the gas cylinder <strong>and</strong> the outlet connection of<br />

the hose. The maximum pressure on the outlet side of the reducing valve must not exceed<br />

18.9 bar (275 psi).<br />

To pressurise the pedestal from an external pressure source, proceed as follows:<br />

WARNING!<br />

DO NOT adjust the pressure relief valve. Personal injury <strong>and</strong> pedestal<br />

damage may occur.<br />

1. Set the column lock [6] to the ON position <strong>and</strong> fully depress the moving column [32]<br />

until the column lock engages (Fig. 5).<br />

2. Rotate the steering ring [19], so that the pressure gauge [1] is visible through the<br />

window (remove a trim weight, if necessary).<br />

3. Remove the Schrader valve cap [3] <strong>and</strong> connect the charging line from the pressure<br />

source.<br />

4. Turn on the pressure supply <strong>and</strong> slowly increase the pedestal pressure to the<br />

required pressure. Do not exceed the maximum working pressure indicated by the<br />

leading edge of the red sector on the gauge [1].<br />

WARNING!<br />

DO NOT exceed 7.2 bar (105 psi) without a balancing load installed.<br />

5. Disconnect the charging line, but do not refit the Schrader valve cap [3] at this stage.
