Joint training with the Jill DandoInstitute <strong>of</strong> Crime Science in London was also undertaken. In addition, analysts have trained withother police services in the United States and Canada. A Memorandum <strong>of</strong> Understanding existsbetween the Scottish Police Crime Patterns Analysis and Serious Crime Investigators that coversshared training.Recommendation 146: Neighbourhood Policing Training ProgrammePatten Recommendation:146. The Northern Ireland police should draw on the success <strong>of</strong> neighbourhood policing in suchplaces as the Markets area <strong>of</strong> Belfast in developing a neighbourhood policing trainingprogramme for all members <strong>of</strong> the police service. Standard training for neighbourhood<strong>of</strong>ficers should include modules on such community problems as domestic violence, childabuse, rape, drugs and youth issues and this training should be updated as necessary.Lead Responsibility: Chief Constable/Policing BoardRecommendation StatusCompliance with this recommendation has been achieved.185
