The reconstruction was realized thanks to agenerous donation by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamedal-Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the UnitedArab Emirates and Emir of Sharjah. The mosque, which wasbuilt in 1550, was deliberately demolished in 1950. Togetherwith the school, the ablution place, the courtyard and thecemetery, the whole mosque complex was reconstructedduring August 1988-August 1999. Its reopening on 10September 1999 represented the completion of the thirdphase of IRCICA’s “Mostar 2004” program.
