The reconstruction was realized thanks to agenerous donation by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamedal-Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the UnitedArab Emirates and Emir of Sharjah. The mosque, which wasbuilt in 1550, was deliberately demolished in 1950. Togetherwith the school, the ablution place, the courtyard and thecemetery, the whole mosque complex was reconstructedduring August 1988-August 1999. Its reopening on 10September 1999 represented the completion of the thirdphase of IRCICA’s “Mostar 2004” program. TAKVİM-İ VEKAYİTAKVİM-İ VEKAYİ(THE OTTOMAN OFFICIAL GAZETTE)ISBN 92-9063-162-7 (set)Takvim-i Vekayi is the Official Gazette of the OttomanState and the first Turkish newspaper published in İstanbul.IRCICA published the Takvim-i Vekayi in the form of 11DVDs and one CD. It is a valuable source of information forresearchers in history whose subjects of interest relate to thesecond half of 19th century. The gazette was issued betweenthe years 1831-1922, with intervals, over three periods: 1November 1831– 8-9 April 1880, 2139 numbers; 26 March1891-14 May 1892, 283 numbers; 28 September 1908 – 4November 1922, 4608 numbers. Thus 7030 numberswere published in total. The gazette not only declaredand disseminated the decisions of the State, but was alsoa medium of information on actual facts and events. Onefinds in it official news concerning the State, military news,and also internal news, external news, orders and decisionsof the Sultan; laws, regulations, declarations; budgetary andfinancial news; graduations, medals; economic and healthnews; scientific news; commercial and industrial news;strange events; public notices. It was published in Turkishand sometimes also in the following languages, althoughfor short periods and irregularly: Arabic, Persian, Greek,Armenian and French.
