<strong>PLATINUM</strong>Re-alignment and Upgrade of road D4380• Re-align the portion of the D4380 Provincial Road along the boundaries of the farmsSwartfontein 818LR and Overysel 815 LR• 3,8 km of road• After re-alignment , road section will be upgraded to:- 9.4 metre wide tarred road, comprising a 7.4 m tarred surfaced and 1 metre wide gravel shoulders on eitherside.- Road servitude will be 30 metres wide aligned to the Road Agency Limpopo requirements.• Funded by Anglo American Platinum Limited (AMPLATS) as part of its expansion of themining activities at Mogalakwena Mine, and its contribution to the improvement of theroads infrastructure in the vicinity of the Mine8
<strong>PLATINUM</strong>Waste Site• Current waste site is nearing its capacity and has to be closed and rehabilitated• New waste site required for non-hazardous, non-recyclable domestic waste• Proposed location on Swartfontein farm• Footprint of 4.6 ha• Expected lifespan of 25 years• Facility will be unlined, and operated on a cell by cell basis• Operation will include:- weekly compaction and covering to ensure a longer lifespan, and for health reasons- Paper, plastic and metals will be sorted at the waste facility for recycling9
