a) liability which YOU are responsible for, because of an agreement YOU haveentered into;b) injury, loss or damage arising from:i) ownership or use of aircraft, horse-drawn or mechanical/ motorised vehicles,bicycles, vessels (other than rowing boats, punts or canoes), animals (other thanhorses, domestic dogs or cats), or firearms (other than guns being used for sport);ii) the occupation (except temporarily for the purpose of the trip) or ownership ofany land or buildings;iii) the carrying out of any trade or profession;iv) racing of any kind;v) any deliberate or reckless act;c) liability covered under any other insurance policy;5) anything mentioned in the General Exclusions.IMPORTANT NOTE - This section does not cover any claim resulting from the ownership or useof motorised vehicles - so YOU need to take out separate motor insurance cover if YOU intend todrive a car or other vehicle during YOUR trip.SECTION 12 - LEGAL ADVICE AND EXPENSESWE will payUp to the amount shown in the Schedule of Cover & Limits:up to £15,000 for legal costs and expenses incurred in pursuing claims for compensation anddamages due to YOUR death or personal injury whilst on the trip provided WE always havecomplete control over the legal proceedings and the selection, appointment and control of lawyersand where a claim occurs YOU will supply any reports or information and proof to us and theclaims office as may be required.For each insured-person this insurance will not cover:- the first £100 in respect of each and every event that causes a claim, other than 30 minutesinitial free advice.- any costs to pursue a claim against a travel agent, tour operator, tour organiser, carrier, theinsurers or their agents or the claims office.- any legal action where the estimated amount that will be recovered is less than £500.- any legal expenses where WE consider YOU are unlikely to obtain a reasonable settlement.- any costs that can be considered under an arbitration scheme or a complaints procedure.- any legal expenses incurred without OUR prior authorisation or that of the claims office.- any claim made by YOU against another insured-person or member of YOUR family, a friend ortravelling companion, whether insured by US or another provider.- any claim for damage to a motor vehicle.Please note:• WE will not pay legal expenses to bring proceedings in more than one country in respect of thesame event.• If YOU are awarded compensation and receive payment then all sums paid out by US shall be33
