Kanimiwiskia soilsThe Kanimiwiskia soils are very poorly drained organic soils that have developed in slightlydecomposed organic materials, derived chiefly from sphagnum mosses. Kanimiwiskia soils aregreater than 160 cm thick, <strong>and</strong> are classified as Typic Fibrisols .Kenabeek soilsThe Kenabeek soils are poorly drained soils that have developed on noncalcareous.stratifiedoutwash s<strong>and</strong>, occupying the level to depressional portions <strong>of</strong> the l<strong>and</strong>scape . Textures are s<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong>s<strong>and</strong>y loam. They are classified as Orthic Humic Gleysols .Kerns soilsThe Kerns soils are very poorly drained organic soils that have developed on moderatelydecomposed organic materials . The thickness <strong>of</strong> organic soil ranges between 40 <strong>and</strong> 160 cm overs<strong>and</strong>y clay mineral subsoil. They occur in complexes with the Maybrook organic soils, <strong>and</strong> aremapped in a number <strong>of</strong> areas northwest <strong>of</strong> New Liskeard . They are classified as Terric Mesisols.Makobe soilsMakobe soils are only mapped at one location on the Ville-Marie sheet, along the westernboundary . They are imperfectly drained <strong>and</strong> have developed on acidic, medium to coarse s<strong>and</strong>ytill . The topography <strong>of</strong> the Makobe area, on the Ville-Marie sheet, ranges from level to gentlysloping. They are classified as Gleyed .Humo-Ferric Podzols.Mallard soilsMallard soils are imperfectly drained soils that have developed on outwash s<strong>and</strong>s, that <strong>of</strong>tencontain gravelly layers. S<strong>and</strong>, s<strong>and</strong>y loam <strong>and</strong> gravelly s<strong>and</strong> phases have been mapped. A cementedor `ortstein' layer sometimes occurs in the B horizon . Mallard soils occur on level to very gentlyrolling topography. They are relatively acidic, <strong>and</strong> are classified as Gleyed Humo-Ferric Podzols.Maybrook soilsThe Maybrook soils are very poorly drained organic soils that have developed in slightly tomoderately decomposed organic materials . Surface materials are mainly derived from sphagnummoss . Thickness <strong>of</strong> the organic layers ranges between 40 <strong>and</strong> 160 cm over clayey mineral subsoil .They are classed as Terric Fibric Mesisols.MCCOOI soilsMcCool soils are imperfectly drained soils developed in calcareous, lacustrine clays, mostlyin the vicinity <strong>of</strong> Krugersdorf. They are usually classed as Gleyed Melanic Brunisols.Milberta soilsThe Milberta soils are very poorly drained soils that have developed in calcareous, varved,lacustrine clay. There is usually an organic matter accumulation on the surface, <strong>of</strong> less than thirtycentimeters. These soils occur in association with the New Liskeard soils, or on the periphery <strong>of</strong>deep organic deposits . They are usually classified as Orthic Humic Gleysols .Misema River soilsMisema River soils are very poorly drained organic soils, developed on moderatelydecomposed organic materials, underlain by mineral clay-textured subsoil. The clay subsoil islacustrine in origin, <strong>and</strong> occurs at depths ranging between 40 <strong>and</strong> 160 cm below the surface. Theyare classified as Terric Mesisols .Moose soilsMoose soils are poorly drained soils developed on noncalcareous, stony loam till. Bothloamy <strong>and</strong> s<strong>and</strong>y loam phases are mapped . They occur in depressional topography, <strong>and</strong> are usuallyclassified as Orthic Humic Gleysols .
