Special EventsMADISON’S ANNUAL GREEN UP CLEANUP DAY- APRIL 21, <strong>2012</strong><strong>Madison</strong>’s Annual Green Up, Clean Up Day has beenhelping resolve the problem of roadside litter for manyyears now. In previous years, between the hours of8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., 400 to 500 residents anddiverse civic groups have gathered together andcollected up to 4 tons of litter in a 4-hour period.HOW CAN YOU HELP?Talk to the organizations in which you are associatedwith and plan to work together for a great cause. Keepan eye out for places that are in need of a clean up.To Register call the Beach and Recreation Departmentat 245-5623. Tell us how many people will be in yourgroup and where you would like to clean.On Saturday, April 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.check in at the Memorial Town Hall, 8 MeetinghouseLane, or Roberts Food Center in the North <strong>Madison</strong>Shopping Center, Pick up your supplies: bags, gloves,and safety vests for the children and then GO TOWORK! When you have finished, bring the litter to thedumpsters at the Memorial Town Hall or at Robert’sFood Center, have a cool drink, and go home feelingproud of yourself.Date: 4/21 Day: Saturday Time: 8:00am-12pmPlace: Memorial Town Hall, Roberts Food CenterSummer Concert SeriesSunday Evenings on the GreenThese are free concerts for all to enjoy. Please refrainfrom bringing alcohol with you as it is not allowed underour agreement for use of the Green by the FirstCongregational Church of <strong>Madison</strong>. Come on down andsit on a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the music!! All concerts scheduled to begin at 6pm.Children’s Concert at Surf Club –FreeJuly 18, <strong>2012</strong> 11:00 to 12:00, (Rain Date: July 25 th ,same time)For all children who are at the beach this Summer, thisconcert is just for you! The Sunshine Road Show is anAward-Winning Musical Program. It has been performedat a variety of venues, including Sesame Place, LakeCompounce, Six Flags Amusement Park, The HartfordCivic Center, The Brooklyn Children's Museum, ThePilot Pen Tennis Tournament, Give Kids the WorldTheme Park, Orlando Florida, Radio Disney's "FirstNoon" Celebration in Tampa and many others. TheShow was featured on The Best of <strong>Connecticut</strong> by NBCChannel 30 and received honorable mention in theinternational John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Touringfor over ten years, the Sunshine Road team believes inthe power that music has on children's well being, whichis why they have devoted their creativity to developingmusic that is encouraging, interactive, and of course fun!The Sunshine Road Music is designed to be upliftingand refreshing. The style is a mix of influences fromCaribbean to 70's pop rock.
