He also ledan adult formation class onActs at St. James EpiscopalCathedral in Chicago,and preached at JustinThornburg’s (2012, M.Div.)ordination.David Rhoads, professoremeritus of New Testament,participated in the ScholarsGroup of the Network ofBiblical Storytellers onAugust 6–8, and presenteda paper for discussion titled“Performance as a ParadigmShift in Biblical Studies.”Rhoads was part of a panelfor the ELCA TeachingTheologians Convocation atTrinity Lutheran Seminaryfrom August 13–15, wherehe also organized a presessionfor LutheransRestoring Creation.Barbara Rossing, professorof New Testament, participatedin a writing workshopat the Collegeville Institute,Collegeville, Minn., July29-August 4. In August, sheorganized the closing paneland presented at the ELCATeaching Theologians gatheringin Columbus, Ohio.In September, Rossingpreached at both morningservices, led an adultforum, and presented anoontime public lunch andlecture, “The End is Near?”at Gloria Dei LutheranChurch, Northbrook, Ill.On October 15, Rossingwas a panelist on theMilt Rosenberg Show onWGN Radio in Chicago,to discuss apocalypticismin religions.
