Results5.4. Streamlines in CashFlowFigure 5.14: CashFlow Curvilinear Grid visualization II: Red lines show two concentric layers in the X–Yplane of the grid. Blue lines visualize radial and axial components in the X–Z plane of the grid.5.4 Streamlines in CashFlowSeveral rendering style for Streamlines are implemented in CashFlow. They can bedivided into two groups:• Simple StreamlinesThey are based on several interpolation points, which are connected to formthe stream line. Generating simple streamlines the two interpolation points areconnected using lines, tubes or illuminated lines– Simple Streamlines– StreamTubes (see figure 5.15)– Illuminated Streamlines (see figure 5.16)• Oriented StreamlinesIn addition to the number of interpolation points creating the streamline eachinterpolation point defines a vector, indicating the vorticity of the flow. Usingthat additional information leads to two new basic rendering styles:– StreamRibbonsTwo interpolation points are connected by a rectangle. The additional vectordefined at each interpolation point is used to create that rectangle.– StreamBoxesThe additional vector defines the orientation for a box, that is extrudedalong the streamline. This is an extension to the StreamTubes style allowingperception of vorticity of the flow along the streamline.111
