Software Design3.11. Loader Nodes• Surface RendererThis renderer is similar to the wire–frame renderer. The grid is rendered usingsurfaces.• Streamline RendererRendering of streamlines in different ways. In extension to the default streamlinerenderer an up–vector per each interpolation point can be taken into account tovisualize vorticity.• Polygonal RendererSimply renders polygonal data.• Volume Renderer<strong>Cash<strong>Flow</strong></strong> does not use its own volume renderer, because a volume renderercalled SimVoleon[Vol10] is already available in Coin<strong>3D</strong>[Coi00].3.11 Loader NodesUn<strong>for</strong>tunately there are several binary data <strong>for</strong>mats <strong>for</strong> CFD data sets and medical datasets. Due to the large dissemination of some packages a set of data <strong>for</strong>mats becamemore important. This is far away from a standardization of data <strong>for</strong>mats, but it alsoreduces the number of loaders needed.Since it is not useful to implement several loaders to proof that a visualizationalgorithm works correct we decided to use only two loaders at the moment:• CFD Plot<strong>3D</strong><strong>for</strong> computational fluid dynamics (CFD) data sets• CT data set<strong>for</strong> medical data sets.63
