It all started on a hot summer daywhen local farmers decided to establishthe Brenham Creamery Company andmake butter from excess cream brought inby area farmers. A few years later thecreamery began making ice cream anddelivering it to neighbors by horse andwagon. It was in 1930 that the companychanged its name to Blue Bell Creameriesafter the native Texas bluebell wildflower.A lot has changed since those earlydays.
