Hanart TZ Gallery was founded in 1983 to specialise<br />

in contemporary Chinese art, and continues to be<br />

the leading gallery in its field. Hanart TZ Gallery has<br />

pioneered the exhibition of experimental art from<br />

mainland China, <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> and Taiwan, and since<br />

the 1980s has co-operated with most of the important<br />

artists now recognized internationally. Its major<br />

exhibitions include sculptures by Taiwanese “Ju Ming”<br />

(Singapore National Museum 1986; Hakone Open-Air<br />

Museum 1995; Place Vedome, Paris 1997), a major<br />

retrospective of mainland radical scene, “China’s New<br />

<strong>Art</strong> Post 1989’; Video <strong>Art</strong> from China, Taiwan and<br />

<strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong>, “Fast Forward” (Macau Contemporary<br />

<strong>Art</strong> Centre 1999, The Rudolfinum, Prague 2000).<br />

Hanart TZ Gallery is active in promoting new talents,<br />

and is constantly showing and publishing the work of<br />

emerging artists.<br />
