Gallery IHN has developed a reputation in
organizing ambitious and innovative exhibitions of
leading artists. The gallery moved to its present
premises in the Sagan area, near Kyung-Bok
Palace and the Blue House in August 1998. With
its characteristic space including 2 showrooms,
the gallery acts as a consultant to major museums
and public art institutions and as a precursor to
Korean contemporary art. Since its inception in
1989, Gallery IHN has held exhibitions specialising
in contemporary Korean art including painting,
sculpture, photography, mixed media and
installations. The gallery currently represents the
leading contemporary artists in Korea who are
selected solely on the basis of their aesthetic quality
and intellectual appeal. To fulfill its role as the
leading fine arts gallery, Gallery IHN continues to not
only host exhibitions of leading contemporary artists
but also introduce young and rising artists.
Founded in 1998, Ingleby Gallery maintains an
ambitious programme of exhibitions and off-site
projects by established and emerging contemporary
artists. In the past 10 years, we have secured a
reputation as one of Scotland’s leading private
galleries, renowned for the quality of our exhibitions
and publications. Our programme maintains a strong
curatorial focus, often presenting a contextual and
cross-generational view of contemporary art practice.
We represent established artists of international
standing, alongside some of the most important
Scottish figures of recent generations, whilst working
hard to introduce and support younger, emerging
artists. In August 2008 we will move from our existing
gallery to a new 6000 sq ft space in Edinburgh’s city
centre.
