Denver International Airport will tra<strong>in</strong> all unescorted Secured Area drivers and will test them onthe procedures and rules outl<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong> this Part and applicable FAA Regulations. Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g andtest<strong>in</strong>g will be provided <strong>in</strong> the English language only. Before be<strong>in</strong>g allowed to be issued anAirport ID badge with Driver Authorization, the employee must be able to successfully completeand pass the Airport’s tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g and test<strong>in</strong>g requirements.In addition, the organization that employs and/or sponsors vehicle operators <strong>in</strong> the SecuredArea is responsible for provid<strong>in</strong>g, at a m<strong>in</strong>imum, the follow<strong>in</strong>g tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g:(a) Demonstrate a thorough understand<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> all Denver Municipal Airport System Rulesand Regulations, Airport policies and procedures, and Airport guidance on driv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> theSecured Area.(b) Complete a Driver Orientation with a company representative that accompanies thedriver <strong>in</strong> the <strong>area</strong>s where they are authorized to drive. The company will provide, uponrequest, certification to the Operations, Public Safety and Security Division that thedriver has received the orientation.(c) Complete familiarity and certification with a supervisor or designee perta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g to theequipment and <strong>area</strong>s <strong>in</strong> which they are allowed to operate.<strong>130</strong>.04 Driver Recertification<strong>130</strong>.04-1 Employees with Driver Authorization will be required to be recertified annuallydur<strong>in</strong>g their Airport ID badge renewal/revalidation.<strong>130</strong>.04-2 Employees must successfully pass all required Driver Authorization Tests andpresent a valid Driver’s License to complete Driver Authorization recertification.<strong>130</strong>.04-3 The organization that employs and/or sponsors vehicle operators <strong>in</strong> theSecured Area is responsible for ensur<strong>in</strong>g the vehicle operator must annually meet them<strong>in</strong>imum pr<strong>of</strong>iciency level as outl<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong> Part <strong>130</strong>.03.<strong>130</strong>.05 Drivers Operat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the Secured Area<strong>130</strong>.05-1 Drivers operat<strong>in</strong>g a vehicle <strong>in</strong> the Secured Area must have a valid driver’slicense <strong>in</strong> their possession and an Airport ID Badge with Driver AuthorizationEndorsement.(a) State law, C.R.S. 42-2-104, all Colorado residents are required toobta<strong>in</strong> a Colorado driver’s license with<strong>in</strong> 30 days <strong>of</strong> residency.<strong>130</strong>.05-2 Vehicle Operators are not required to obta<strong>in</strong> a Commercial Driver’s License(CDL) to operate dual-axle <strong>vehicles</strong> <strong>in</strong> the Secured Area provided the <strong>vehicles</strong> areunlicensed / unregistered, and as such cannot be driven over the road.<strong>130</strong>.05-3 Aircraft shall have the right-<strong>of</strong>-way over all <strong>vehicles</strong>.3Revised Effective January 1, 2013Denver Municipal Airport System Rules and RegulationsSource: Official Web site <strong>of</strong> Denver International Airport (bus<strong>in</strong>ess.flydenver.com)
