immediately notify the aircraft operator if the vehicle cannot ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong> its position. Theaircraft must taxi at a speed that is reasonable and prudent for the escorted vehiclegiven the exist<strong>in</strong>g conditions. The aircraft must obta<strong>in</strong> clearance from the Ramp ControlTower and FAA Control Tower prior to beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g an escort <strong>of</strong> this type.<strong>130</strong>.09 Unescorted Vehicles <strong>in</strong> the Secured Area<strong>130</strong>.09-1 Vehicles operat<strong>in</strong>g unescorted <strong>in</strong> the Secured Area must meet the follow<strong>in</strong>grequirements:(a) The vehicle must have a current Airport Vehicle Permit.(b) The vehicle must have a company logo with a m<strong>in</strong>imum <strong>of</strong> 4” letter<strong>in</strong>g on each sideor display a 2’ x 3’ orange and white checkered flag on the rear <strong>of</strong> the vehicle at a height<strong>of</strong> twelve (12) <strong>in</strong>ches or greater above the highest po<strong>in</strong>t <strong>of</strong> the vehicle.<strong>130</strong>.10 Escorted Vehicles <strong>in</strong> the Secured Area<strong>130</strong>.10-1 Vehicles not meet<strong>in</strong>g the requirements <strong>of</strong> <strong>130</strong>.09 may be escorted by a vehiclethat does meet the requirements and must obta<strong>in</strong> a Daily Vehicle Permit before be<strong>in</strong>gescorted <strong>in</strong>to the Secured Area.<strong>130</strong>.10-2 Vehicle operators escort<strong>in</strong>g other <strong>vehicles</strong> <strong>in</strong> the Secured Area must haveescort<strong>in</strong>g privileges and a Driver Authorization endorsement.<strong>130</strong>.10-3 Vehicle operators provid<strong>in</strong>g the escort must ensure that the escorted vehicle(s)and escorted <strong>in</strong>dividual(s) rema<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong> view and under control at all times and the operatormust be <strong>in</strong> compliance with escort protocols as def<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong> Part 20 <strong>of</strong> the DenverMunicipal Airport System Rules and Regulations.<strong>130</strong>.10-4 Vehicle operators provid<strong>in</strong>g an escort must be <strong>in</strong> a separate vehicle meet<strong>in</strong>gthe requirements listed <strong>in</strong> <strong>130</strong>.09.<strong>130</strong>.10-5 The escorted <strong>movement</strong> <strong>of</strong> an exceptionally large, tall, or slow vehicle (e.g.,large crane, vehicle carry<strong>in</strong>g an oversized load, etc.) must be coord<strong>in</strong>ated with the AOMor designee prior to start<strong>in</strong>g the escort.<strong>130</strong>.11 Surface Movement Guidance Control System Conditions<strong>130</strong>.11-1 When the FAA Control Tower declares that the airfield is <strong>in</strong> Surface MovementGuidance Control System (SMGCS) conditions the follow<strong>in</strong>g cross<strong>in</strong>gs are suspended:(a) 98 th Ave at L taxiway and M taxiway,(b) ED taxiway and P7 taxiway at Electra,(c) B4 taxiway and G taxiway at 84 th Ave,(d) Z taxiway at Oakhill Street.7Revised Effective January 1, 2013Denver Municipal Airport System Rules and RegulationsSource: Official Web site <strong>of</strong> Denver International Airport (bus<strong>in</strong>ess.flydenver.com)
