130.05-4 Emergency response vehicles responding to an emergency shall have right-ofwayover all vehicles.130.05-5 Vehicles may drive across or within the ramp areas beyond the limits of theVehicle Service Road (VSR) when permission is granted in advance by an AviationOperations Manager (AOM) or designee. Emergency Response vehicles and City andCounty of Denver vehicles operated by Red or Red Stripe Badged City employees maydrive across or within the ramp areas beyond the limits of VSRs.130.05-6 Each Secured Area Driver shall be proficient in the English language to theextent that the driver can:(a) Hear, read, and understand Denver International Airport’s DriverTraining program without assistance; and be capable of passing therequired Driver Authorization Tests without assistance. For otherwisequalified individuals meeting all other parts of this rule but requiringassistance for the airfield driving video test to accommodate adisability, the sponsoring company will notify the Airport prior to thedriver testing and coordinate these accommodations with airportrepresentatives.(b) Read, understand, and comply with the signs and/or other markingsposted in the Secured Area.(c) Hear, understand, and comply with spoken instructions and/orcorrections by Denver Police Department (DPD) officers, contractsecurity personnel, Airport Operations personnel or other individualscharged with maintaining a safe operating environment in the SecuredArea.(d) Hear, understand, comply, and respond to spoken instructions over aradio if the job function requires driving in the Movement Area.130.05-7 The VSR crossings at SC taxiway, A taxiway (South Cargo), and the southshoulder of AA taxiway are limited to those operators with a “demonstrated need” asdetermined by Airport Operations.130.05-8 The interline baggage VSRs between A Concourse and B Concourse, and BConcourse and C Concourse may be used by City employees with Driver Authorizationdriving in a City Vehicle or by an airline vehicle transporting interline baggage.(a) Only City employees with a Driver Authorization endorsement drivinga City vehicle may use the interline baggage VSR between A Concourseand the Shoulder of AA taxiway.130.05-9 All vehicles operating in the Secured Area must be equipped with resistor-typespark plugs or any other devices which will eliminate radio interference from ignitionnoise.4Revised Effective January 1, 2013Denver Municipal Airport System Rules and RegulationsSource: Official Web site of Denver International Airport (business.flydenver.com)
130.05-10 All vehicles must operate within the leasehold area, the non-movement VSRsor the interline baggage VSRs. All other operations outside of the VSRs must beapproved in advance by the AOM or designee.130.05-11 New companies that receive Driver Authorization for the Secured Area mustfirst drive their assigned route(s) with an AOM or designee.130.05-12 Electric carts are prohibited from driving in the Secured Area, except in theservice tunnels, by tenants in their exclusive leasehold areas, or on the inner concourseVSRs.130.05-13 Motorcycles shall not be operated in the Secured Area, except DPDmotorcycles that are authorized to drive from G5 to fuel or obtain repairs at the CityMaintenance Facility.130.05-14 Bicycles shall not be operated in the Secured Area. Bicycles are allowed tooperate in leased aircraft hangar areas located within the Secured Area as long as theTenant accepts full liability.130.05-15 All vehicles in the Secured Area must be properly inspected, maintained andoperated in a manner that prevents obstruction or closure of any portion of the airfield.130.06 Vehicle Traffic in Service Tunnels and Baggage Areas130.06-1 All vehicles operating in the service tunnels, baggage makeup areas, or otherenclosed areas at the Airport must be electric (battery) powered or operated onCompressed Natural Gas (CNG). Receipt of an Airport Vehicle Permit for a CNGvehicle may be conditioned upon passing an annual emissions test conducted by theCity or its authorized agents. The City shall publish permitted levels of emission andmonitor compliance for vehicles operating within the enclosed area. Vehicles equippedwith duel fuel systems (e.g. gasoline/electric hybrids, gasoline/CNG) are not permittedaccess to the service tunnels.130.06-2 Emergency response vehicles are authorized to drive in the service tunnelswithout operating on electric (battery) power or CNG in the course of official business.Unless necessary for emergency response capabilities, engines of emergency responsevehicles shall be shut down when parked.130.06-4 Emergency vehicles awaiting emergency response are authorized to park inthe tunnel areas while the engine is off and not in idle mode.130.06-5 The maximum height for vehicles operating in the service tunnels at the Airportis eight (8) feet unless otherwise posted.130.06-6 Vehicles equipped with snowplows are prohibited in the service tunnel system.130.06-7 Bicycles are not allowed in the service tunnel system except when operated bylaw enforcement officers in the performance of their patrol responsibilities.5Revised Effective January 1, 2013Denver Municipal Airport System Rules and RegulationsSource: Official Web site of Denver International Airport (business.flydenver.com)
