<strong>130</strong>.05-4 Emergency response <strong>vehicles</strong> respond<strong>in</strong>g to an emergency shall have right-<strong>of</strong>wayover all <strong>vehicles</strong>.<strong>130</strong>.05-5 Vehicles may drive across or with<strong>in</strong> the ramp <strong>area</strong>s beyond the limits <strong>of</strong> theVehicle Service Road (VSR) when permission is granted <strong>in</strong> advance by an AviationOperations Manager (AOM) or designee. Emergency Response <strong>vehicles</strong> and City andCounty <strong>of</strong> Denver <strong>vehicles</strong> operated by Red or Red Stripe Badged City employees maydrive across or with<strong>in</strong> the ramp <strong>area</strong>s beyond the limits <strong>of</strong> VSRs.<strong>130</strong>.05-6 Each Secured Area Driver shall be pr<strong>of</strong>icient <strong>in</strong> the English language to theextent that the driver can:(a) Hear, read, and understand Denver International Airport’s DriverTra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g program without assistance; and be capable <strong>of</strong> pass<strong>in</strong>g therequired Driver Authorization Tests without assistance. For otherwisequalified <strong>in</strong>dividuals meet<strong>in</strong>g all other parts <strong>of</strong> this rule but requir<strong>in</strong>gassistance for the airfield driv<strong>in</strong>g video test to accommodate adisability, the sponsor<strong>in</strong>g company will notify the Airport prior to thedriver test<strong>in</strong>g and coord<strong>in</strong>ate these accommodations with airportrepresentatives.(b) Read, understand, and comply with the signs and/or other mark<strong>in</strong>gsposted <strong>in</strong> the Secured Area.(c) Hear, understand, and comply with spoken <strong>in</strong>structions and/orcorrections by Denver Police Department (DPD) <strong>of</strong>ficers, contractsecurity personnel, Airport Operations personnel or other <strong>in</strong>dividualscharged with ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g a safe operat<strong>in</strong>g environment <strong>in</strong> the SecuredArea.(d) Hear, understand, comply, and respond to spoken <strong>in</strong>structions over aradio if the job function requires driv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the Movement Area.<strong>130</strong>.05-7 The VSR cross<strong>in</strong>gs at SC taxiway, A taxiway (South Cargo), and the southshoulder <strong>of</strong> AA taxiway are limited to those operators with a “demonstrated need” asdeterm<strong>in</strong>ed by Airport Operations.<strong>130</strong>.05-8 The <strong>in</strong>terl<strong>in</strong>e baggage VSRs between A Concourse and B Concourse, and BConcourse and C Concourse may be used by City employees with Driver Authorizationdriv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> a City Vehicle or by an airl<strong>in</strong>e vehicle transport<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>terl<strong>in</strong>e baggage.(a) Only City employees with a Driver Authorization endorsement driv<strong>in</strong>ga City vehicle may use the <strong>in</strong>terl<strong>in</strong>e baggage VSR between A Concourseand the Shoulder <strong>of</strong> AA taxiway.<strong>130</strong>.05-9 All <strong>vehicles</strong> operat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the Secured Area must be equipped with resistor-typespark plugs or any other devices which will elim<strong>in</strong>ate radio <strong>in</strong>terference from ignitionnoise.4Revised Effective January 1, 2013Denver Municipal Airport System Rules and RegulationsSource: Official Web site <strong>of</strong> Denver International Airport (bus<strong>in</strong>ess.flydenver.com)
