STARTING PROCEDUREWARNING: Never run the engine atHIGH R.P.M. when the track of thevehicle is raised off the ground.Electric StartingFor Models with electric starter:1. Insert key in ignition switch (C).2. Pull decompressor knob (F) fully out.3. Engage choke (E). (Choke is not necessaryif engine is warmed up.)4. Test throttle operation then applythrottle lever (A) slightly.EBD--+t---.3!J-__I••'JF5. Turn ignition key clockwise until starterengages.CAUTION: Do not engage starter longerthan 30 seconds.If engine does not start on first try, keymust be turned fully back to OFF eachtime. Alfow starter to cool for 2 minutesbefore repeating procedure.6. Release throttle and return key to ONimmediately engine has started.7. Disengage choke (E) and PUSH INDECOMPRESSOR knob (F).A---+--....Jp.-cHGCAUTION: Never operate the Ski-Doosnowmobile with the battery removed ordisconnected.8. Allow the engine to warm up beforeoperating at full throttle.Manual StartingEvery Ski-Doo snowmobile is equippedwith a manual starter (auto-rewind type)located on the right hand side of theengine. To start the engine manually:1. Insert key in ignition (C) and turn toON position.2. Pull decompressor knob (F) fully out.3. Engage choke (E). (Choke is not necessaryif engine is warmed up).4. Test throttle operation then applythrottle lever (A) slightly.5. Grasp manual starter handle (G) firmlyand pull slowly until a resistance is feltthen pull vigorously and engine will start.Allow handle to return slowly to its originalposition. If engine does not start, repeatthe procedure.Note: Do not pull starting rope to its fullestextent or allow starting handle to "ttyback" to its original position.6. Release throttle (A), disengage choke(E) and PUSH IN decompressor (F), immediatelyengine has started.7. Allow the engine to warm up beforeoperating at full throttle.15
