STORING PROCEDUREIt is during Summer, or when a vehicleis not in use for a" month or more, thatproper storage is a necessity."Storage of the Ski-Doo snowmobile duringlong periods of inactivity consists ofchecking and replacing missing or wornparts: Proper lubrication to insure thatparts do not become rusted: Cleaningitems such as carburetor of oil gas mixtures,to prevent gum varnish formationwithin the carburetor; Battery recharging(electric models only); and in general,preparing the vehicle so that when thetime comes to use the snowmobile againit will start and be in top condition".IMPORTANT: The necessity of properstorage cannot be overstressed. If youlack the time or proper tools, be sure tosee your authorized Ski-Doo Dealer.(51) Track1. Inspect track for cuts, missing trackinserts or broken rods and make any necessaryreplacements.2. Lift rear of vehicle until track is clearof ground then support with brace ortrestle. The Ski-Doo snowmobile shouldbe stored in such a way that track doesnot stay in contact with cement floor orbare ground.Note: Due to the material change of ther?2 track, we recommend to keep thespring tension applied. However, thetrack should be rotated periodically,(every 40 days).{52} Suspension(bogie wheels)1. Remove the bogie wheel sets fromthe vehicle.2. Remove cross shaft from bogie wheelset. Clean bogie wheel assembly andcross shaft of di rt or rust.3. Grease each bogie wheel until all oldgrease is flushed out. (See Fig. 5).4. Spray bogie wheel springs with Ski­Doo* metal protector. If unavailable, wipewith cloth or rag soaked in oil. Checkcondition of shaft and replace if bent orworn. Apply a coat of low temp. greaseon cross shaft. (See Fig. 20).5. Reassemble entire bogie wheel set,making sure assembly moves freely.6. Reinstall bogie wheel set.7. Repeat above steps on remaining bogiewheel sets.8. Lubricate rear hub through greasefittings.(slider suspension)1. Release track tension by first looseninglink plate spring lock nuts then trackadjuster bolts until end of bolts are flushwith the side of eye bolts.2. Unhook link plate springs.3. Remove bolts, washers and nuts securingside members of suspension unitto frame. Withdraw unit from vehicle.4. Unbolt cross shafts from side membersand remove shafts from cross supports.5. Clean cross shafts and inspect condition.Replace if necessary.6. Apply a coat of low temp. grease oncross shafts and insert shafts into crosssupports.7. Inspect suspension springs, replaceas required. Install side members.8. Check condition of slider shoes. Ifworn, contact your dealer.9. Spray only bare metal parts of suspensionwith Ski-Doo* metal protector.If unavailable, wipe with cloth soaked inoil.10. Grease rear cross support wheelsuntil old grease is flushed out. Greaserear hub at grease fittings.11. Install suspension unit to vehicle.(See Note: of S1)."Trademark of Bombardier Limited27
