For those proceduresthat require cab open, unlock latches onboth sides where cab meets frame. Thenlift cab gently up until stopped by restrainingdevice.WARNING: Always stop engine beforetilting cab and do not start it until cabis closed and latches are fastened.Console RemovalTo expose carburetor, or for any procedurethat requires removal of console:1 Tilt console away from engine.2. Unhook the spring attaching consoleto engine.Pulley Guard Removal1. Tilt cab and remove console.2. Pullout retaining clip and pull onspring bolt to disengage pin from bracket.3. Move pulley quard toward front of vehicleto disengage It from chain casebracket.WARNING: Never start the engine oroperate the vehicle when the pulleyguard is not installed.Drive Belt RemovalTo remove drive belt:1. Tilt cab, remove console and pulleyguard.2. Open the driven pulley, (larger p.ul.leymost forward). Twist and push the slidinghalf then hold in open position.3. Pull the bottom of belt in toward thedriven pulley then slip slackened beltover the top edge of the sliding half.4. Slip the belt out from the drive pulley(centrifugal governor) and remove completelyfrom vehicle by passing it betweenmuffler and end of driven pulley.To install drive belt, follow REVERSEprocedure (See Fig. 1).WARNING: Never start or run the enginewithout drive belt installed.::::-~ .~. ~hpUlle v --; .~~ '\:l', - ,I-Fig. 1(L1) Ski AssemblyLubricate spring coupler bolts with oil.(L2) Steering MechanismUsing light machine oil, lubricate thelower steering bushing.Fig. 2Grease the ski legs, at grease fittings,until new grease appears at the joints(See Fig. 2).(L3) Throttle and BrakeOil brake and throttle cable slugs so theyrotate freely in the levers.CAUTION: Ensure that the oil does notenter into cable housings.Using light machine oil, lubricate throttlelever shaft and pivoting slug of carburetor(See Fig. 3). Do not lubricate cables.17
