Themeasure was intended <strong>to</strong> preven<strong>to</strong>verflow5 actions of the Church against theplan <strong>to</strong> balkanize the DRC lead atthe end of JulyThe Secretary General of the NationalEpiscopal Conference ofCongo (CENCO) released Saturday,July 21, 2012 the five actions<strong>to</strong> express the rejection of theCatholic Church in the plan of balkanizationof the Democratic Republicof Congo (DRC). This wasduring a press ad hoc Abbot LeonardSantedi detailed the actions.At the end of their 49th PlenaryAssembly of the Bishops membersof the National Episcopal Conferenceof Congo (CENCO) issued astatement on the war situation inthe country entitled "No <strong>to</strong> the Balkanizationof the Congo! ".In this statement the bishops expresseddeep consternation aboutthe war in North Kivu and SouthKivu and is an illustration of theplan of balkanization repeatedlydenounced in their statements andLève-<strong>to</strong>i et marche n°027 Juillet– Septembre20127These five main actions are asfollows.1. Triduum of prayer for peace,unity and terri<strong>to</strong>rial integrity ofJuly 31 <strong>to</strong> August 1, 2012 with aprayer for peace <strong>to</strong> recite everyday at the end of the Eucharisticcelebration and prayer meetings2. Walking expectancy August 1,2012 in all the dioceses of theCongo <strong>to</strong> say no <strong>to</strong> the balkanization.3. A charity (fundraisingand various donations) organizedin all dioceses <strong>to</strong> come aideauxaffected populations, victims ofthe horrors of this unjust war.4. A process of advocacy <strong>to</strong> sensitizepolicy makers at nationaland international (Ambassadorsof member countries of the SecurityCouncil of the United Nations,European Union and AfricanUnion)5.
