Colville and Mr. Martin. Colonel Needham apologized for his inability to attend.CampingTwo applications to camp on the Forest were granted. The Ranger reported there were fewer than usual thissummer.Bye Law Post At GoatThe Chairman reported he had seen Mr. H. Waters as to the re-erection of the Byelaw post at the Goat and theCommittee agreed to accept Mr. Water’s estimate viz, £ 3: 10: 6.Military ManoeuvresA letter was read from the local Army Agent to the Clerk asking the Board’s consent to manoeuvres being held onthe Forest between August 23 rd and September 16 th under the conditions therein stated and the Chairman reportedthat at the request of the Chairman of the Board he had accepted the responsibility of consenting on behalf of theCommittee to the proposal, which mainly affected the Maresfield District.Legsheath Farm Ltd WaterpipeThe Committee considered an application from the East Grinstead Gas and Water Coy. Ltd to lay a 2 inch pipefrom a point in Kidbrooke Lane opposite the Tylehurst Stable Gate through the Forest to the boundary of theLegsheath Farm property for the purpose of providing it with a water supply. They recommend that theapplication be granted.R.A.F. Golf Club Motor StandThe Committee had before them an application from the R.A.F. Golf Club to extend the garage area outside theClub’s enclosure on the Forest, of which a plan was furnished. They resolved to inform the Secretary of the GolfClub that before the matter comes before the Board for final decision on the 27 th inst. they think it desirable heshould supply information in the form of figures and dates showing as far as possible how often in the proceedingtwelve months and to what extent the cars parked at the Golf House have been in excess of the parking room.The Committee took note of a letter from Mr. Faber calling attention to the proposed increase in the garage areaand suggesting it should only be granted if shown to be frequently called for.Shalesbrook Pollution OfThe Committee also took note of a letter from Mr. Bond complaining of the pollution of the Shalesbrook by thefiltration of drainage from the garage area. They asked the Chairman to call the attention of the Secretary of theGolf Club to the matter and to request the Golf Club to take steps to put a stop to the leakage.R.A.F.
