To The Conserva<strong>to</strong>rs of <strong>Ashdown</strong> <strong>Forest</strong>Your Audit Committee have <strong>to</strong>day examined (1) The General Account (2) The Second Ranger Account and (3) TheAccount of the Protection and Improvement Fund, each for the year 1925. We have checked the balances broughtforward from last year, and the various receipts, and have compared the payments charged <strong>to</strong> each Account withthe Vouchers for same, and have checked the casting of the Accounts and find them all correct. We recommendthat the following cheques be drawn <strong>to</strong> close the accounts for the year 1925, viz.Account No 1 GeneralThe Clerk ½ years Salary <strong>to</strong> 31 st instant: 75: 0: 0Disbursements during year: 23: 19: 2Kirby Herbert, 17 weeks’ Salary asRanger at £ 2 <strong>to</strong> 29 th inst.: 34: 0: 017 weeks’ rent of cottage <strong>to</strong> 29 thinst. at 5/- per week: 4: 5: 017 weeks’ Employers insurance @ 1/3: 1: 1: 3£ 98: 19: 239: 6: 3Account No 2 Second RangerBrown William 17 weeks’ Salary at30/- <strong>to</strong> 29 th instant: 25: 10: 0The Clerk – disbursements during the year: 6: 4: 10There is <strong>to</strong>day standing <strong>to</strong> the credit of the General Account £ 79: 19: 2, but when the above two cheques for £ 98:19: 2 and £ 39: 6: 3 respectively have been paid there will be a balance due <strong>to</strong> the Bank of £ 58: 6: 3.The balances standing <strong>to</strong> the credit of the other accounts after the above cheques have been paid will be as follows:The Second Ranger Account £ ****The Protection & Improvement Fund £ 112: 7: 0The sum of £ 159: 15: 4 Console and the sum of £ 150 5% War S<strong>to</strong>ck 1929 – 47 represent the investments held onaccount of the Protection & Improvement Fund.We found the accounts well kept and correct.Dated this 17 th day of December 1924.Wm. KenwardIt is resolved that the report be approved that the accounts be signed by the Chairman of the Board, that chequesbe drawn as recommended by the Committee and that the thanks of the Board be accorded <strong>to</strong> the Committee fortheir valuable services.Authority To Clerk To Detrain For Arrears Of RateOn the Motion of Mr. Follett it is resolved that the Clerk be and is hereby authorized and empowered <strong>to</strong> causedistress <strong>to</strong> be levied on the goods and chattels of any Commoners who have not paid the <strong>Forest</strong> Rate.Nelson Stevenson, Repair Of TracksThe Chairman states that at the Commoners’ Meeting held this morning Mr. Nelson Stevenson a Cottager atMarlpits Nutley applied for permission <strong>to</strong> repair (1) a portion of the lane or track lending from Nutley Street <strong>to</strong> theWindmill (2) the way in<strong>to</strong> his Cottage therefrom (3) a portion of lane or track above his Cottage and <strong>to</strong> clear out theditches thereof and cut necessary grips for drainage.
