Presidents ReportLadies and Gentlemen,I have much pleasure in presenting this report coveringthe activities of the 19/9-80 season.Our first season as a senior grade club ( provisional)must be regarded as a memorable and most successful oneas it marked the beginning of a new era in <strong>Weston</strong> <strong>Creek</strong>.The overall performance of the club was . pleasing in almostevery aspect and the fact that our principal objectiveof providing cricket for all was very largely achievedwas very satisfying indeed.Another encouraging feature was the manner in whichmany of the younger players were able to progress throughthe grades and establish themselves in the top teams.The <strong>Club</strong> possesses a large number of players who are under20 years of age and in addition to those mentioned aboveare many who will not ever play in the higher grade t$amsbut who, hopefully,will be able to enjoy their cricketwith <strong>Weston</strong> <strong>Creek</strong> for many years to come.Three of our teams made the final series- the Women'sXI, the 4th. grade and the City & Suburban A-grade Div.2side. While the Women's team was soundly defeated in itssemi-final the other two teams proceeded to contest thefinal in the respective competitions. Tom Porter's 4thslost in an interesting and pleasant match with East Canberrawhile Ray Harding's side drew with Teachers C.C. ina very disappointing game with the premiership going tothe minor premiers- Teachers. Congratulations to Julie,Tom and Ray and their teams, for their successes and forthe manner in which they . represented the <strong>Club</strong> duringthese important end-of-season fixtures.My congratulations and thanks also to all team captainsfor the way in which they carried out their tasksand their contributions they made to the smooth functioningof the <strong>Club</strong>. Special thanks are due to the <strong>Club</strong> Captain,Brian Kensey, for the important role he played inthis transition season and his influence and stature grewas his own form became so dominant in the latter part of
