The Committee regrets that no information on the implementation ofthe Convention in the British Indian Ocean Territory was provided inthe State party's report.The Committee looks forward to receiving in its next periodic reportinformation on the measures taken by the State party to ensure theadequate development and protection of the Ilois for the purpose ofguaranteeing their <strong>full</strong> and equal enjoyment of human rights and fundamentalfreedoms in accordance with article 2, paragraph 2, of theConvention.27. The Committee encourages the State party to continue to consult withorganizations of civil society working in the area of combating racialdiscrimination and during the preparation of the next periodic report.28. The Committee notes that the State party is currently reviewing thepossibility of making the optional declaration provided for in article14 of the Convention and invites the State party to give high priorityto such a review and to give favourable consideration to making thisdeclaration.29. The Committee recommends that the State party take into account therelevant parts of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action,and that it include in its next periodic report updated information onthe action plan that it is in the process of drafting in order to implementthe Durban Declaration and Programme of Action at nationallevel.30. The Committee recommends that the State party's reports be madereadily available to the public from the time they are submitted andthat the observations of the Committee on these reports be similarlypublicized.31. The Committee recommends that the State party submit a combinedeighteenth and nineteenth periodic report, due on 6 April 2006, andthat the report address all points raised in the present concludingobservations.418
