Function Modules (refer to page 16-43 for all 5 steps)The function modules available for U-Line motor starters are shown in the tables below. Only one functionmodule can be installed in a U-line motor starter.LUFDtAvailable Function ModulesModule Description For use with:OperationRequirementsCatalogNumberFault differentiation withmanual reset (thermalLUFDH20 $104.00overload)Provides indication between anoverload trip and a short circuitAdvanced control 24–250 Vac or VdcFault differentiation with trip.aunits only(power from control unit)auto reset LUFDA10 104.00PriceLUFVtThermal overloadpre-alarmMotor load indicationParallel wiringAS-i communicationMODBUS ®communicationSignals when the motor currentreaches 1.05 of the full load settingon the control unit.Provides a signal proportional tothe average currents in the threephases divided by the full loadcurrent setting of the control unit. The output corresponds to a loadstatus of 0–2 times the full loadsetting of the control unit.Provides a convenient way toreduce control wiring and allow forconnecting starters to a communicationsnetwork by providing24 Vdc for the starters.Allows the U-Line starter to beconnected directly to the networkusing AS-i protocols.Allows the U-Line starter to beconnected directly to the networkusing MODBUS protocols.Advanced controlunits only24–250 Vac or Vdc(power from control unit)Advanced or multi4–20 mA, (requiresfunction control unitsseparate 24 Vdc powersupply)Advanced or multifunction control units(24 Vdc only) andLU9BN11C orLU9MRC pre-wiredconnectorAdvanced or multifunction control units(24 Vdc only) andLU9BN11C orLU9MRC pre-wiredconnectorAdvanced or multifunction control units(24 Vdc only) andLU9BN11C orLU9MRC pre-wiredconnectorLU9G02 splitter box andPLC networkRequires separate24 Vdc power supplyand AS-i networkRequires separate24 Vdc power supplyand MODBUS networkLUFW10 104.00LUFV2 125.00LUFC00 38.00ASILUFC5 125.00LULC031 145.00a On a short circuit trip, the function module contact changes state, the operating handle moves to the "Trip" position, and the power polesopen. On thermal overload (and all other faults), the function module contact changes state. In Auto Reset mode, the operating handleremains in the "Ready” position and the power poles open. After a motor cool-down period (or after the fault is corrected) the unit resetsand the power poles close. In Manual Reset mode, the operating handle moves to the "Trip" position and the power poles open. After amotor cool-down period (or after the fault is corrected) the handle must be moved to the "Reset" position and then to the "Ready" position.LUFNt4. Auxiliary Contact Function Modules (refer to page 16-43 for all 5 steps)These function modules provide hard contacts to indicate various operating conditions of the U-Linestarter. Units with screw terminals plug directly into the U-Line power base. Units without terminalsrequire the appropriate terminal block to be installed.Contact Arrangement Catalog Number Price2 N.O.
