TheKiswahili versio n by-law s articulat e th e procedur e an d responsibilitie s o f genera lmeetings an d requirements fo r eligibility for members an d clearly define th e dutie s ofsociety members, the Board and its committees. The by-laws does not indicate the dutiesof the General manager because members themselves, through the executive committeeperform all duties in all responsible positions.The extent o f growth and expansion was not looked into at that time but realizing theneed to reinforce human resources to cater for the huge number of members, 1 7 peoplewere employed . Although the curren t managemen t tea m i s aware fo r a nee d t o trainmembers, the y hav e no t starte d member s trainin g regardin g t o microfinanc e bes tpractices, control, supervision and management o f microfinance institution in general.KK i s properly registered accordin g to th e la w governing cooperative societies . Untilnow KK by-law s is still operating under the Cooperative Societies Act no. 15 of 1991 asamended b y Act supplement n o 5 of 199 7 and the cooperative societie s guiding rules.During th e assessment , it was establishe d tha t there is only a societ y by-laws but n oother approve d policies by members.
