In adolescence years when the individual experiences physical, emotional, social andpersonal changes and developments, young people may have health problems specific to thisperiod and may need expert support in order to overcome these problems. The healthproblems young people experience arise from certain individual and social factors, andphysical and mental changes in adolescence may have negative effects on young people.In addition to the health problems individuals may face in adolescence, young peoplemay have inclination towards drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and similar harmful substances. Inorder to fight against harmful habits affecting young people negatively, social policies andlegislative regulations should be effectively implemented.Furthermore, young people should be informed about raising consciousness to takeresponsibility on issues such as their health, necessity to apply to health institutions beforegetting ill, effective use of health services and from where and how they can have access tothese services. Young people with chronic diseases and disabilities should be supported inorder to help them benefit from health services more effectively and to meet special healthneeds.POLICIES1.
