People will be more willing to volunteer for the actions in which they know what they aredoing, why they are doing this and how much added value it will create.There is a direct correlation between countries’ development levels and volunteeringactivities. The importance of volunteers in national and international organizations issignificant in terms of both finance and their becoming aware of their knowledge, skills,experiences and abilities.POLICIES1. Increasing the participation of young people in volunteering activities andremoving obstacles in the way of volunteeringTargets• To organize voluntary activities which aim to enable young people to acquirevocational skills apart from educational activities, which increase their learning competence,develop employability opportunities and the sense of solidarity, encourage them to adopt intothe society more easily and to become active citizens.• To perform studies which encourage young people to get integrated into certainvoluntary institutions to make voluntary work instead of volunteering on their own and toconduct their voluntary activities in this way.• To conduct studies in order to establish platforms which will increase thenumber of activities based on social volunteering, to increase the number of voluntaryinstitutions, to improve the present voluntary institutions and to support such institutions.• To make studies which will increase the influence of voluntary institutions andnon-governmental organizations to make voluntary work more widespread and systematic.• To strengthen communication between voluntary organizations and theirsupport for each other.• To increase young volunteers’ participation in non-governmental organizationsand to help young people engage in activities which will support their success.• To conduct necessary studies for the adoption of volunteering and for theestablishment and expansion of awareness of volunteering at every level of educationalprograms.StakeholdersThe Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry ofDevelopment, Local Authorities and Non-Governmental Organizations.44
