C UNINSURED SERVICES NOTE: Physicians must always use discretion when billing for uninsured services. Physicians should: • consider the well-being of the patient • treat all patients with respect • in determining professional fees for non-insured services, consider nature of service and the patient’s ability to pay • never discriminate against a patient (age, race, gender). For patients not covered by MSP or Interprovincial Reciprocal Agreement (e.g., non-Canadians or those from Quebec) GPs are encouraged to use the BCMA rate for all services provided. For out-of-country patients check the latest CMPA recommendations. For private and non-insured rates for all fees, please refer to the BCMA list available April 1 annually.
