only once in their own system, but still take advantage of Toolkit reports<br />
There is a one-time incentive payment of $500 available to all physicians who begin to<br />
use the CDM Toolkit for 50 or more CDM patients. This incentive is designed to cover<br />
the cost of initial register development: chart reviews, flow sheet creation, and data<br />
entry. Copies of the invoice and payment criteria are at the end of this section.<br />
CDM Toolkit – Patient Registry Development Incentive – Payment Criteria<br />
The general practitioner must:<br />
• be licensed in <strong>British</strong> <strong>Columbia</strong><br />
• have 50 qualified patients entered into the CDM Toolkit (see below)<br />
• have at least three clinical baseline observations entered for each patient<br />
• have not received payment of the BCMA CDM Toolkit Incentive<br />
In order for a patient to be included in the count of 50, they must meet at least one of<br />
the following criteria:<br />
• be a new patient entered since November 1, 2004<br />
• have a new flow sheet attached to an existing patient since November 1,<br />
2004, and baseline data entered for observation types on this new flow sheet,<br />
in addition to those pre-populated by any existing flow sheets<br />
• have observations entered since November 1, 2004, for an existing patient with<br />
existing flow sheet(s) for at least three observation types not used before<br />
November 1, 2004<br />
Patients meeting more than one of these criteria will be counted once only.<br />
F. CLINIPEARLS SOFTWARE SYSTEM<br />
The Division of Continuing Professional Development and Knowledge Translation<br />
(UBC CPD-KT) has developed a software tool to facilitate the delivery of approved,<br />
condensed Clinical <strong>Practice</strong> Guidelines via PDAs and web interface. To date, modules<br />
have been developed for nine chronic diseases and two cancer management manuals.<br />
The resulting product complements existing paper and web-based guidelines and<br />
provides a new format specifically addressing health practitioners’ point-of-care needs.<br />
The Ministry of Health (MoH), BC Guidelines and Protocols Advisory Committee<br />
(GPAC), BC <strong>Medical</strong> Association (BCMA), and BC Cancer Agency (BCCA) are<br />
committed to encouraging and facilitating the use of existing clinical practice<br />
guidelines and protocols to improve patient care and health outcomes. To aid in<br />
