He mentioned a need to focus away fromthe brief as it is too detailed for the purpose of the meeting and out ofdate.1.2 MW and NC both expressed a need to look at the outstanding issuesand look at how we resolve these.Action2 Study data supply2.1 HK feels the SFRA meets the requirements of PPS. He mentioned theuse of strategic mapping techniques to achieve an alternativeapproach to flood risk in <strong>Wigan</strong> due to limited data availability for thestudy.3 Methodology and assumptions adopted during study3.1 HK outlined the <strong>Council</strong>’s approach to reviewing sites and dismissingthose with high risk. This has only left a handful of high risk sites tobring forward which have been recommended for open space andwater compatible uses in the Sequential Test results.3.24 Outstanding EA issues4.1 HT commented that the SFRA should provide more information on theExceptions Test.4.2 CW added that the EA have no problems with what JBA have done onthe study but would like to see more guidance on what issues adeveloper would come up against in <strong>Flood</strong> Zone 3 sites and what isthe likelihood of these sites passing the Exceptions Test.4.3 Reference made to the Salford and Manchester SFRAs which bothcontain a table of sites in <strong>Flood</strong> Zone 3 with a summary of key issuesat each site. HK agreed methodology but expressed a concern not tobe too proscriptive.4.4 CN appreciation that <strong>Wigan</strong> Borough <strong>Council</strong> have reduced site areasto exclude areas of <strong>Flood</strong> Zone 3 (FZ3).
