Introduction and Sources of AdviceIntroduction1.1 The Assessment Handbook provides the regulatory framework, policy, andprocedures for the assessment of all taught students (and research students takingtaught modules). It is designed to ensure consistent approaches to the managementof academic standards.1.2 The Assessment Handbook contains useful advice and information for all staffinvolved in the assessment of students, including academic and administrative staff.It does not extend to research students studying for an MPhil or PhD.1.3 The Assessment Handbook shall be used as a companion document to theAcademic Regulations. Cross-references to the Academic Regulations 2012-13 areprovided throughout the Assessment Handbook. It shall also be used alongside theCode of Practice on Assessment and Feedback, which focuses on pedagogicalissues.1.4 The Assessment Handbook is approved by Senate.
