PRESIDENTIAL PALACE COMPLEX – DAMASCUS, SYRIAI was fortunate to work on the design and later on in charge of the top supervision of theexecution of this very prestigious project. My late Mother was selected as the Interior Designerby Kenzo Tange with the full support of the Government of Syria.The Project consisted in the Offices of the President of theSyrian Arab Republic; The Offices of the 3 Vice Presidentsand the Official Residence of the President with vastGardens. The terrific landscape design (50 hectares) wascarried out by Mrs. Grace Kirkwood, wife of the formerPresident of the American University of Beirut (AUB) whohad been my professor in landscape architecture during myundergraduate studies at the School of Architecture andEngineering at the AUB. The MEP was carried out by one ofmy dear friends Professor Georges Abi Rached, who hadbeen my engineering professors at the AUB. My late Motherwas appointed as the Interior Designer . The execution of theworks were undertaken by the general contractor OGERLIBAN.
