ORDER MY STEPS IN THY WORD

God’s Order for Quality Believersthe flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth tothe Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.To “sow” is to plant. When I love you withthe love of Christ, I am sowing. When you walkwith the love of Christ, you are sowing. Andwhat you sow you get back, you reap. If you giveout hell, that is what you are going to get back. Ifyou give out bitterness, that is what you are goingto get back. If you give out criticism, that iswhat you are going to get back. If you give outthe love of Christ, that’s what you are going toget back. You reap whatever it is that you aregiving out. In the context, sowing to the spirit isto walk by holy spirit. It is a walk.Verse 8:. . .he that soweth to the Spirit shall of theSpirit reap life everlasting.To “reap life everlasting” is beyond simplyhaving eternal life. Eternal life is acquired bygrace, not by works.* It is a gift. But here inGalatians 6 “life everlasting” is talking about*Ephesians 2:8 and 9: “For by grace are ye saved throughfaith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Notof works, lest any man should boast.”Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death; but the giftof God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”234The Mark of Qualityreaping the results of our walk, our works. What isthe reaping? The reaping is the reward. When youtake your corn to market, you get paid for it.When you do a day’s work or a week’s work in afactory, you get paid. The reaping is that pay. Soas believers who walk by the spirit, we also get ourpay. But when? “Life everlasting” shows that thepay comes both now and continuing on from now.In its usage in verse 8, “life everlasting” includesall the rewards of walking on the Word both nowand throughout eternity. Christianity is so dynamicbecause not only do we have the joy of the abundantlife now, but we have all eternity to enjoy therewards of having sown to the spirit.I tell you, people who do not want to acceptthe Lord Jesus Christ and live God’s way have noidea of what they are missing. This is the only lifeof joy and blessing and peace. My friend RufusMosely used to say, “This walking with God is sofantastic that it’s heaven going to heaven, even ifthere is no heaven when you get there.” So makeup your mind whether you’ll walk God’s way,the way of His Word, or whether you’ll walk theway of the world. Every man and woman decideswhat kind of seeds he or she plants.Verse 9:And let us not be weary in well doing. . . .235
