ORDER MY STEPS IN THY WORD

God’s Order for Quality Believersit is the Word of God. They don’t need giveawayprograms, they don’t need rehabilitation pro-grams, they don’t need armaments. They needthe Word. All these other things may have someuse, but without God’s Word man’s real, basicneed cannot be met. Only God’s Word will trulysatisfy. We must stand up and proclaim HisWord. The light of the glory of God is thetreasure that we have and that we want to share.We have only one life to live and give, and wemay as well give our utmost for His Highest.dividing the Word. Our mistakes are simply amatter of not knowing or doing better. Maybenext week we’ll know more of God’s Word, andthen we’ll change. That is what life is all about.Verse 7:But [For] we have this treasure [this light ofthe knowledge of the glory of God] inearthen vessels, that the excellency of thepower may be of God, and not of us.This great treasure which we have is “the light ofthe knowledge of the glory of God,” spoken of inverse 6. This most valued treasure of God is foundin earthen vessels. These “earthen vessels” are ourbodies. We have this precious treasure in ourphysical bodies. God contrasts so dramatically theearthen vessel with the excellency of His power.What a contrast! How dynamic the juxtaposition.With this knowledge of the glory of God, wecan come to the point in life that we totally trustGod to take care of us and to lead us. We holdforth the greatness of the Word to our friends,our loved ones, and everyone else with whom wecome in contact. Every place we go, we talk theWord. Do you have anything better to talkabout? No. So talk about the best, God’s Word.If there is anything the world really needs today,246The Light of LifeLet’s look at a few usages of “light” in theWord, beginning in Matthew 5 in order to gain agreater understanding and appreciation of Godas light and us as His light in the world.Matthew 5:14-16:Ye are the light of the world. A city that is seton an hill cannot be hid.Neither do men light a candle [lamp], andput it under a bushel, but on a candlestick [apillar]; and it giveth light unto all that are inthe house.Let your light [not your negatives, not yourdoubts, not your fears, not your worries] soshine before men, that they may see yourgood works, and glorify your Father whichis in heaven.247
