It undertook a feasibility study to access the community needs of theEasthall district in Easterhouse. The study was funded by a grant from CommunitiesScotland’s Wider Action Fund. Both Easthall Park Housing Co-operative andCommunities Scotland were interested in using this exercise as a pilot study, with aview to disseminating the findings to a wider audience.This survey was carried out by eight voluntary interviewers plus an additionalexperienced volunteer interviewer was also brought in; a total of 148 interviews werecompleted, out of a total of about 500 households, a response rate of about 30%, allof who were residents of Easthall. Their findings will also be published in the socialaudit.It was decided that different stakeholders would be consulted on various aspects ofthe ERA work. This Social Accounting process highlighted the need for more rigorous monitoring ofquantative information as it became apparent that although there were variousmeetings, hires, café users etc.. there was no systems in place to monitor this.
