• <strong>The</strong> Housing Co-operative are launching an energy efficiency pilot andrecycling scheme. <strong>The</strong> initial project will be the installation of recycling bankslocated in the Park and energy monitoring and advise to its tenants. <strong>The</strong>Greater Easterhouse Environmental Trust will be employing a wastemanagement officer who will be able to advise and work with the groups onthese projects. This will be a starting point in encouraging recycling that willeventually lead to recycling bins in individual gardens. <strong>The</strong> Centre will providethe focus for information and training.• A number of tenants have enquired about a gardening club. <strong>The</strong> gardeningclub will recycle waste and use grey water collected from the roof for wateringplants.Quantative data – Activity 3.2Number of environmental training positions5 per yearActivity 3.3: Assisting other agencies to promote healthy lifestylesStakeholder 5 4 3 2 1 Don’tKnowFunders 2Staff 2 1Volunteers 1 1 1 1Main partner 1Commentary:• 5 out of the 10 respondents believe that we have been very successful orsuccessful at assisting other agencies in promoting healthier lifestyles.• <strong>The</strong> Glenburn Centre Works closely with Stepping Stones, GEDC, WorkingLinks, Culture and Leisure Services and the Community Health Shop,discussions are ongoing with these groups to develop alternatives to drug andalcohol misuse and also to support new healthier lifestyles.• <strong>The</strong> Glenburn Centre has become part of the Greater Easterhousepartnerships Physical Activities Group. Through this we will provide access toresources that will encourage the community to access a wide range ofaffordable sessions through partners from the local Bosco project and Cultureand Leisure Services at Glasgow City Council.• <strong>The</strong> “Slimming it up” class, is one such example, in partnership with theGlasgow City Council’s Culture and Leisure Services, this class, which is on atthe Centre on a Thursday afternoon, puts its users. Through a programme ofhealthy eating and exercises. <strong>The</strong> great thing about this class it suits the needsof mothers of children of school age as the class finishes at 2.45pm, as thelocal primary school finishes at 3.00pm• One volunteer stated ERA was poor at this activity, no reasons were given forthis and therefore further investigation.33
