G . 8 . V i s i t o r s a n d C h i l d r e nVisitors to the school are limited to those people who are formally accompanied by staff, faculty, or students,and to those who come to see exhibitions. Visitors should obtain a visitor’s pass from the security guard priorto meeting with faculty, staff, or students. Anyone who expects a visitor should meet them at the Collegeentrance. Visitors may not enter studios unaccompanied while classes are in session and without thepermission of the instructor. Children of students are not permitted in the studios while classes are in session.G . 9 . R e t e n t i o n o f S t u d e n t W o r kThe Delaware College of Art and Design reserves the right to photograph, use for assessment, exhibit orpublish any student work, and the right to retain any student work for such purposes. DCAD is not responsiblefor any loss or damage to student work under any circumstances.G . 1 0 . F i e l d T r i p sParticipation in field trips is a required part of the curriculum at the Delaware College of Art and Design.Travel arrangements for students are the sole responsibility of the individual student, unless arrangementsare made for the entire group by the school. Museum admission and certain limited travel costs for field tripsmay be the responsibility of the student. The Delaware College of Art and Design and its agents accept noresponsibility or liability for any injury, damage, loss, accident or any other irregularity occurring during anyportion of, or in relation to, a student’s participation in field trips. It may be required that students sign a“Liability Waiver Form,” provided by the faculty member sponsoring a field trip, prior to departure.G . 1 1 . P e t sExcept for service dogs, pets are not allowed in the College or College facilities under any circumstances.G . 1 2 . W e a t h e r P o l i c yThe cancellation of classes due to weather is determined by the administration. Official announcements ofschool closings will be posted on the DCAD website and updated on the main DCAD Office message at (302)622-8000. Should you not hear otherwise, the College is open and classes will be held as scheduled. In theevent of a weather emergency, students, faculty and staff will be notified via the College’s EmergencyNotification Systems.11
G . 1 4 . F o o d a n d D r i n kFor extensive health reasons, eating and drinking are not allowed in studio classes, photography areas,computer labs, or the library. Check with your faculty member for the specific health hazards presented whilein class.G . 1 5 . T h e f tThe College will exercise reasonable care over personal property but cannot be responsible for loss ordamage. Students are expected to protect the equipment and possessions of the College, its students, staff ,and faculty. Theft, vandalism, and property damage should be reported to the security desk. This is done byfiling an “Incident Report,” with the Director of Student Services. Theft, vandalism, and property damage ofany kind are grounds for dismissal; damage charges will be assessed.G . 1 6 . S c h o o l E q u i p m e n tStudents, faculty, and staff are responsible for the condition and safety of the equipment they use. Studentswill be financially liable for damage to or loss of equipment through negligence or improper usage. Students,faculty, and staff will be financially liable also for replacing lost or damaged library materialsG . 1 7 . M a i n t e n a n c e I s s u e sStudents should report maintenance issues except those pertaining to student housing to Security, the Dean,or the Chief Administrative Officer.G . 1 8 . P a r k i n gDCAD parking lot space is limited and is reserved for faculty and administration use only. Under nocircumstances are students permitted to park in the lot. Violators are subject to towing and fines. This will bestrictly enforced. Students are encouraged to use public transportation whenever possible. Limited meteredparking is available in the area around the campus. Arrangements have been made with the City ofWilmington, and are subject to change, for students to purchase a parking permit, which allows for cars to beparked at metered spaces. Details regarding this are distributed at the beginning of each semester during newstudent orientation.G . 1 9 . L o s t a n d F o u n dArticles found in the building should be submitted to the security guard on duty at the security desk near theentrance of the College. Articles may be discarded if not claimed within two months.H. STUDENT CONDUCTH . 1 . C o d e o f S t u d e n t C o n d u c tThe Delaware College of Art and Design has established rules and regulations that govern its relationship withenrolled students. These rules and regulations are established to ensure the safety and well-being of allstudents. They are binding upon enrollment, and all students agree to subscribe to them. Administrativewithdrawal or dismissal may result from a failure to meet school standards of academic progress, conduct,and/or attendance, or for reasons of impaired mental or physical health, or neglect of financial obligations.12
