G . 1 4 . F o o d a n d D r i n kFor extensive health reasons, eating <strong>and</strong> drinking are not allowed in studio classes, photography areas,computer labs, or the library. Check with your faculty member for the specific health hazards presented whilein class.G . 1 5 . T h e f tThe <strong>College</strong> will exercise reasonable care over personal property but cannot be responsible for loss ordamage. <strong>Student</strong>s are expected to protect the equipment <strong>and</strong> possessions <strong>of</strong> the <strong>College</strong>, its students, staff ,<strong>and</strong> faculty. Theft, v<strong>and</strong>alism, <strong>and</strong> property damage should be reported to the security desk. This is done byfiling an “Incident Report,” with the Director <strong>of</strong> <strong>Student</strong> Services. Theft, v<strong>and</strong>alism, <strong>and</strong> property damage <strong>of</strong>any kind are grounds for dismissal; damage charges will be assessed.G . 1 6 . S c h o o l E q u i p m e n t<strong>Student</strong>s, faculty, <strong>and</strong> staff are responsible for the condition <strong>and</strong> safety <strong>of</strong> the equipment they use. <strong>Student</strong>swill be financially liable for damage to or loss <strong>of</strong> equipment through negligence or improper usage. <strong>Student</strong>s,faculty, <strong>and</strong> staff will be financially liable also for replacing lost or damaged library materialsG . 1 7 . M a i n t e n a n c e I s s u e s<strong>Student</strong>s should report maintenance issues except those pertaining to student housing to Security, the Dean,or the Chief Administrative Officer.G . 1 8 . P a r k i n gDCAD parking lot space is limited <strong>and</strong> is reserved for faculty <strong>and</strong> administration use only. Under nocircumstances are students permitted to park in the lot. Violators are subject to towing <strong>and</strong> fines. This will bestrictly enforced. <strong>Student</strong>s are encouraged to use public transportation whenever possible. Limited meteredparking is available in the area around the campus. Arrangements have been made with the City <strong>of</strong>Wilmington, <strong>and</strong> are subject to change, for students to purchase a parking permit, which allows for cars to beparked at metered spaces. Details regarding this are distributed at the beginning <strong>of</strong> each semester during newstudent orientation.G . 1 9 . L o s t a n d F o u n d<strong>Art</strong>icles found in the building should be submitted to the security guard on duty at the security desk near theentrance <strong>of</strong> the <strong>College</strong>. <strong>Art</strong>icles may be discarded if not claimed within two months.H. STUDENT CONDUCTH . 1 . C o d e o f S t u d e n t C o n d u c tThe <strong>Delaware</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Art</strong> <strong>and</strong> Design has established rules <strong>and</strong> regulations that govern its relationship withenrolled students. These rules <strong>and</strong> regulations are established to ensure the safety <strong>and</strong> well-being <strong>of</strong> allstudents. They are binding upon enrollment, <strong>and</strong> all students agree to subscribe to them. Administrativewithdrawal or dismissal may result from a failure to meet school st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>of</strong> academic progress, conduct,<strong>and</strong>/or attendance, or for reasons <strong>of</strong> impaired mental or physical health, or neglect <strong>of</strong> financial obligations.12
