STUDENT DISABILITY SERVICES/ACCOMMODATIONSThis institution has an institutional commitment to provide equal educational opportunities for qualified students withdisabilities in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 andSection 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. To provide equality of access for students with disabilities, the institution willprovide accommodations and auxiliary aids and services to the extent necessary to comply with state and federal laws. For eachstudent, these accommodations and services will specifically address the functional limitations of the disability that adverselyaffect equal educational opportunity. Applicants or students who would like to request disability services/accommodations mustmake a request to the Campus President or Campus ADA/504 Caseworker. Students will receive written notification ofdetermination within seven calendar days. Students may appeal an accommodation decision by following the student grievanceprocedure as stated in the “Student Compliant/Grievance Procedure” section of this catalog.AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE EXCELLENCE CERTIFICATION (ASE)The ASE organization was created in 1972 for the purpose of improving the quality of performance in vehicle repairsthroughout the nation. It measures and recognizes the diagnostic and repair skills of automobile and heavy-duty trucktechnicians as well as body repairers and painters. ASE is located in Herndon, Virginia, phone (703) 713-3800.ASE-certified technicians have earned the right to be proud of their skills and knowledge. The ASE Certification Programoffers a practical way to provide qualified technicians the recognition and status they deserve. By participating in the program,<strong>WyoTech</strong> students help professionalize the occupation, increase career opportunities, improve income potential, and gainrecognition for automotive, collision/refinishing, and diesel service excellence.<strong>WyoTech</strong>’s Laramie campus is approved as a regional testing center for the administration of ASE Certification tests.<strong>WyoTech</strong> graduates are given partial credit toward the two-year experience requirement for certification and <strong>WyoTech</strong>encourages all of their students to work toward ASE Certification. ASE Certification fees are not included in tuition fees.INTER-INDUSTRY CONFERENCE ON AUTO COLLISION REPAIR (I-CAR)I-CAR was created in 1979 with the goal of providing updated training to the collision industry. Insurance companies, automakers, and collision repair professionals are involved along with I-CAR in the development of education for updated repairtechniques. I-CAR programs are taught in many locations in the United States and abroad to the collision industry. At<strong>WyoTech</strong>, we use some I-CAR curriculum in our collision/refinishing program. Enrolled students may be eligible for I-CARpoints at a reduced price while they are in the collision/refinishing programs. These I-CAR points may help students duringtheir job search after graduation. Many repair shops promote I-CAR training and may welcome an employee coming in thatalready has some of the training.ADMISSIONSADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURESApplicants should apply for admission as soon as possible in order to be officially accepted for a specific program and startdate. To begin the application process, the applicant should write, telephone, or visit the school. An applicant must be a highschool graduate or its equivalent or demonstrate an ability to benefit from training at <strong>WyoTech</strong>.In order to be admitted to <strong>WyoTech</strong>, an applicant must:1. Be interviewed and recommended for admission by a school representative.2. Submit a Student Information Form.3. Sign a Code of Student Conduct Agreement.4. Sign an Enrollment Agreement and pay an application fee.5. Receive acceptance notification from the school.6. In order to begin classroom attendance at <strong>WyoTech</strong>, an applicant must provide proof of standard-curriculum highschool graduation or its equivalent. A transcript may be required in order to determine eligibility, or7. In order to begin classroom attendance at <strong>WyoTech</strong>, achieve a passing score for eligibility to enter as an ability tobenefit student.The number of students enrolled under the Ability to Benefit Provision is limited. The School reserves the right to rejectapplicants based on test scores and ability to benefit limitations or as necessary to comply with any applicable local, state, orfederal laws, statutes, or regulations.Applicants enrolling under the Ability to Benefit provision are required to achieve a passing score on an independentlyadministered, standardized, nationally recognized test that is approved by the U.S. Department of Education.If an applicant is under 18 years of age, the Enrollment Agreement must also be signed by the parent or guardian.Once an applicant has completed and submitted the application documents, the School reviews the information and informsthe applicant of its decision. If an applicant is not accepted, all monies paid to the School are refunded. The school reserves theright to reject students if the items listed above are not successfully completed.A student admitted under the Ability to Benefit Provision may not enroll in the Associate degree programs offered at<strong>WyoTech</strong>.This campus does not offer training in English as a Second Language.5
