should write the institution official responsible for the record, clearly identify the part of the record they want changed,and specify why it is inaccurate or misleading. If the institution decides not to amend the record as requested by thestudent, the institution will notify the student of the decision and advise the student of his or her right to a hearingregarding the request for amendment. Additional information regarding the hearing procedures will be provided to thestudent when notified of the right to a hearing.3. The right to consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information contained in the student’s education records,except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent. Generally, schools must have writtenpermission from the parents of minor students or eligible students in order to release any information from a student’seducational records. However, FERPA allows schools to disclose those records, without consent, to the followingparties or under the following conditions (34 CFR § 99.31):• School officials with legitimate educational interest;• Other schools to which a student is transferring;• Specified officials for audit or evaluation purposes;• Appropriate parties in connection with financial aid to a student;• Organizations conducting certain studies for or on behalf of the school;• Accrediting organizations;• To comply with a judicial order or lawfully issued subpoena;• Appropriate officials in cases of health and safety emergencies;• State and local authorities, within a juvenile justice system, pursuant to specific State Law.Schools may disclose, without consent, “directory” information such as a student’s name, address, telephone number,date and place of birth, honors and awards, and dates of attendance. However, the school must tell parents and eligiblestudents about directory information and allow parents and eligible students a reasonable amount of time to requestthat the school not disclose directory information about them. Schools must notify parents and eligible studentsannually of their rights under FERPA. The actual means of notification (special letter, inclusion in a PTA bulletin,student handbook, or newspaper article) is left to the discretion of each school.4. The right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education concerning alleged failures by the institution tocomply with the requirements of FERPA. The name and address of the Office that administers FERPA is the FamilyPolicy Compliance Office, U.S. Department of Education, 400 Maryland Avenue, SW, Washington, DC 20202-5920.Additional FERPA information is available from the institution’s Business Office.RETENTION OF STUDENT RECORDSTranscripts will be retained for at least 50 years. Other records will be retained for at least 5 years.FINANCIAL INFORMATIONTUITION AND FEESCurrent tuition, fees, rent, and deposit prices can be found in Appendix B in this catalog. Tuition, fees, rent, and depositsare the same for in-state and out-of-state students.HOUSING CHARGESStudent applicants at the campus who request school housing are required to pay a non-refundable housing reservation feeat the time the residential rental agreement is signed.Applicants who are accepted into school housing must pay a refundable damage deposit at or before the date of registrationand the balance maintained throughout enrollment. This deposit will be returned within 30 days of student separation from theschool, provided housing is vacated in the same condition it was in when the student accepted the rental, less normal wear.Rent is payable in advance or on a monthly basis. A 5% discount is available for those who pay rent in advance for thelength of their program.ESTIMATED LOCAL TRANSPORTATION COSTSEstimated transportation charges are $24.30 per week.CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICIES<strong>WyoTech</strong> adheres to applicable state cancellation and refund requirements. See Appendix A for applicable statecancellation and refund policies.Cancellation PolicyAll notices of cancellation should be in writing, signed and dated, and mailed or delivered to the Admission’s Office locatedat your campus.a) The student applicant will be returned all monies paid if:(1) The school rejects the applicant;(2) The enrollment of the student was procured as the result of misrepresentation through advertising, promotionalmaterials of the school, or representations by the owner or representative of the school;22
