may not require update training prior to two years after graduating from the program. A graduate is considered to be in goodstanding if all school charges have been paid and, if the graduate was a recipient of institutional and/or Federal loans, thegraduate is current in all loan obligations. A request for an update training course must be addressed to the Registrar andapproved by the Campus President. Update training is not valid for grade or certification purposes and the student will notreceive a transcript, grade, or attendance for the portion repeated.STANDARDS OF SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESSStudents must maintain satisfactory academic progress in order to remain eligible to continue as regularly enrolled studentsof the School. Additionally, satisfactory academic progress must be maintained in order to remain eligible to continue receivingfederal financial assistance.Accreditor and federal regulations require that all students progress at a reasonable rate (i.e., make satisfactory academicprogress) toward the completion of their academic program. Satisfactory academic progress is measured by:1. The student’s cumulative grade average percentage (CGAP)2. The student’s rate of progress toward completion (ROP)3. The maximum time frame allowed to complete the academic program (150% for all programs)Evaluation Periods for Satisfactory Academic ProgressSatisfactory academic progress is measured at the end of each six week course.GAP and CGAP CalculationsStudents at WyoTech receive percentage grades (see “Grading Scale”). At the end of each six week evaluation period, thestudent’s cumulative grade average percentage (CGAP) is reviewed to determine the student’s qualitative progress. When astudent repeats a course, the student’s CGAP will be recalculated based on the higher of the two grades earned. Grades forwithdrawals, transfer credits, incompletes, non-punitive (Pass), and non-credit remedial courses have no effect on the student’sCGAP.Rate of Progress toward Completion (ROP) RequirementsThe school catalog contains a schedule designating the minimum percentage or amount of work that a student mustsuccessfully complete at the end of each evaluation period to complete their educational program within the maximum timeframe (150%). Quantitative progress is determined by dividing the number of clock hours earned by the total number of clockhours in courses attempted. Clock hours attempted include completed hours, transfer credits, withdrawals, and repeatedcourses. Non-credit remedial courses have no effect on the student’s ROP.Example: 250 clock hours earned500 clock hours attempted = 50% ROPMaximum Time Frame in Which to Complete (MTF)The maximum time frame for completion of all programs is limited by federal regulation to 150% of the published length ofthe program. WyoTech schools calculate the maximum time frame using clock hours for courses attempted. The total scheduledclock hours for all courses attempted, which include completed courses, transfer courses, withdrawals, and repeated courses, count toward the maximum number of clock hours allowed to complete the program. Non-credit remedial courses have noeffect on the student’s ROP. A student is not allowed to attempt more than 1.5 times, or 150% of, the standard length of theprogram in which to complete the requirements for graduation. The requirements for rate of progress are to assure that students are progressing at a rate at which they will be able tocomplete their programs within the maximum time frame. The maximum allowable attempted clock hours are noted in thefollowing tables.10
