Crayon• Allow <strong>the</strong> child to make pictures or practicehandwriting skills using crayons with <strong>the</strong> <strong>Tactile</strong>Marking Mat (available from APH). Allow <strong>the</strong>child to just “scribble” and enjoy <strong>the</strong> processof coloring.• Have scented crayons available <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong>child’s use.• Use capsule paper and a <strong>Tactile</strong> Image Enhanceror Swell-Form Machine [see Resources on page105] to make duplicates of <strong>the</strong> line drawings included in <strong>Setting</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Stage</strong> <strong>for</strong><strong>Tactile</strong> <strong>Understanding</strong> or of o<strong>the</strong>r simple drawings. The child can <strong>the</strong>n use <strong>the</strong>raised-line duplicates as coloring pages.• Make your own raised-line coloring pages by outlining a simple shape (e.g.,butterfly) with puff ink or by punching dots with a stylus on <strong>the</strong> reverse side of<strong>the</strong> paper.
