substance-using populations; more recent developments in substance use disorders(such as the increase in “designer drug” use); and lethality prevention insubstance-using populations.Supervision is directed by Glenn Trezza, Ph.D., the Fellowship’s Track Director.Additional supervision is provided by Monica Roy, Ph.D., Program Manager of theSARRTP and of the ADTP, and by Deborah Brief, Ph.D., Director of VA Boston’sResidential Treatment Services.Research: The Fellow will have the opportunity to collaborate with other faculty onprojects related to substance use disorders. Current projects are focused on theapplication of new technologies to treat problem drinking in returning veterans,treating women veterans with substance use problems, and on improving ourunderstanding of the co-occurring nature of substance use and psychiatric problemsin returning veterans. Through this collaboration the Fellow will have anopportunity to participate in the grant application process and to work on theimplementation of any projects that are funded in this area.
