In step 2 of the refrigerator recycling process, the CFCs in the isolati<strong>on</strong>-foam (PUR-foam) of<br />
the devices are recovered. Generally, there are two major ways to carry out step 2:<br />
The first opti<strong>on</strong> is based <strong>on</strong> manual extracti<strong>on</strong> of the foams, using scraping <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> cutting tools<br />
to separate the PUR-material from the casing material. The foam is then passed <strong>on</strong> to a<br />
