Essa Economic Development
Committee is a dedicated group
who continue to support new
Commercial & Industrial development to
create new jobs and balance the tax formula.
We value the efforts of our existing local
businesses and commercial sector for the
great services they provide Essa & Area
residents.
We continue to work collaborately with
neighboring Municipalities to engage in
market strategies, studies and survey’s to
remain abreast of the needs and trends in our
Township.
We keep a current Business Directory
linked to our website and we now have
a Facebook page to provide events and
information. An inventory of Vacant lands,
Commercial units and contact owner
information are available on our website and
in the EDC office which is located inside the
Angus Recreation Centre.
We are currently engaged in organizing
and hosting a Economic Development Forum
to provide information for those wanting to
invest in our Commercial sector. We will have
a guest panel to share their experiences.
We are excited to be working towards
our 13th Annual Essa Salmon Festival &
Riverbank Derby held the 3rd weekend in
September.
We have formed strong partnerships with
the Nottawasaga Steelheaders, the Angus &
Area Chamber of Commerce, Simcoe County
EDC, the Healthy Community Committee,
Nottawasaga Futures, the Angus Lion’s Club
and Nottawasaga Conservation Authority.
We are thankful for our great supporters and
volunteers that make our events successful.
new Canoe Launch, trails, Nottawasaga Pines
Graduation Bursary Program, the South
Simcoe Excellence Business Awards, Santa
Claus Parade, the Barrie Fair and improving
the Essa Fishing Parks. We continue to lobby
the Government for a Walk in Clinic and
Service Ontario Centre for our Township.
We are just completing our Community
Exchange with First Impression and we are
currently working on selecting and placing
“New” Gateway signs around the Township
for a more prominent branding.
The EDC Committee continues to
actively investigate all opportunities for
Essa Economic
Development Committee
Grant Funding. Our future vision is to see all
of our vacant Commercial & Industrial units
filled with thriving businesses serving Essa
and Area residents.
The EDC Committee comprises of
