Contracts Round-Up
Governor Replacement Contract for Capita Symonds
Work commenced in December
2009 on Scotia Gas Networks
(SGN) Governor Replacement
contract. With an approximate value
of £0.5M, the contract with Capita
Symonds covers nine individual
projects.
The principal objective of the
contract is the renewal of gas
governor stations up to and including
7 bar. The scope includes:
● Demolition of existing governor,
including the removal of existing
plant and equipment.
● Demolition of existing governor
building, which can include GRP,
wood and concrete, and the
removal and management of
asbestos where present.
● Decommissioning of existing services
● Removal of existing concrete slab
foundations, fences, gates etc.
● Construction of new governor
buildings, including foundations, and
structures.
● Installation of new governor below
and above ground works
● Installation of new pipe-work,
telecoms, power, cathodic
protection, and some mechanical
and electrical works
● This includes writing and undertaking
Non Routine Operations / Routine
Operations, procedures to commission
and decommission the networks.
We are acting as Contractor for
these works, and we undertake the
full project of replacement and
provision of new commissioned
asset. Works are progressing well
and are due to be completed in
December 2010.
Other works within the Scottish
Division include Glasgow East 132kv
for Scottish Power/Iberdola. This
contract commences in November
2010 with completion due in
October 2011. The scope of works
include the installation of ducts to
carry 132kv/33kv electric cables
and has an approximate value of
£3M.
Mains Replacement Contract for
Scotia Gas Networks
With an approximate value of
£1M, the contract with Scotia
Gas Networks (SGN) covers
sixteen individual projects in around
the Glasgow Area. Work commenced
last month on SGN Mains
Replacement contract.
The principal objective of the
contract is the replacement of mains
and services for domestic and
Industrial and commercial customers.
The scope includes:
● Replacement of Low pressure
networks up to and including 500mm
● All planning activity including
identification of best technique
including live/dead insertion and
open cut
● Undertaking full Project Management
on behalf of the client
● Renewing service and meters
for domestic and industrial /
commercial customers and
liaising directly with our
clients customers
● This includes undertaking
Authorising Engineer and
Competent Person
responsibilities on behalf of
the client
The works are progressing well
and the first package of work
should be completed by March
2010.
